Everyone of us has the ability to make a space relatively beautiful, inside each individual, is a sleeping giant yearning to be awakened. When we talk about decorate, it means to furnish something or a space, and make something or somewhere pleasing to the eyes. 

A decorator needs to be innovative, always alert, smart, sensitive to the environment and trends. Lots of people have a wrong way of thinking when it comes to colour and this makes combining different colours a challenge when it comes to decoration. 

Naturally, some colours look alike, but they are not the same, they may come from the same family or different family... 

Below are colours that look alike but are not the same, as a decorator, or maybe you are looking forward to taking a career in event management and decoration, the tips below would help you differentiate different colours


1.  Sky blue and lilac 

2. Pink and peach 

3. Red and crimson (they belong to the same family)

4. Blue black and black 

5. Lemon green and mint green ( from the same family - green)

6. Turquoise and royal blue 


7. White and Ivory

9. Coffee and toffee (chocolate)

11. Butterscotch and ivory 

12. Silver and gray ( ash is silver , not grey) 


13. Purple and lilac
